Instagram:
Kids and teens love using the photo-sharing app Instagram because it allows them to apply effects and captions to their photos and videos and share them easily through the social network. Parents should also be aware that, on Instagram, photos and videos are public by default and may contain location data.
Ask FM:
It is a social network where users can ask questions to other users, and answers are limited to 300 characters. Questions can be from an identified user, or they can be asked completely anonymously. It is not moderated (unless the user reports something), it does not have any parental controls. After creating an account, users can submit an anonymous question. Then the people they follow can respond with a text, photo or video. Questions are asked anonymously, however, answers to questions are identified by username and photo. While many of the questions are positive in nature, not all are, and many ask for comments about their personal appearance with provocative images. Proponents say the anonymity gives people the most honest answers, while others insist that ASKfm is an incubator for cyberbullying.
Kik message:
It is an anonymous messaging application in which there is no phone number, no emails are exchanged, only usernames. When you create an account, KiK asks for an email address, but you can spoof one. It is one of the only cross-platform messaging apps (works on all mobile devices) as it does not require a phone number to be registered. For younger children without a cell phone, this means they can use it on their mobile devices such as iPods via Wi Fi. It is often used to chat with strangers. It allows users to exchange photos and videos that no one else can see and disappears from the sender’s phone. By allowing people to identify themselves only with a made-up username, it provides more anonymity.
SnapChat:
For its part SnapChat allows its users to send videos and photos to anyone, a series of data that disappear after the desired time. Unlike other social networks such as (Instagram and Facebook), the photos and videos that are shared disappear after a certain period of time, the problem is that users can screenshot the snapchat or take a picture with another mobile. However, Snapchat does not prevent recipients from taking a screenshot or recording and saving the Snaps, at which point they can be shared with anyone via any medium. If the recipient takes a screenshot, a notification will alert the sender if the recipient has taken a screenshot, kids think their photos are selfies but the reality is totally different. Self-destructive photos can be saved and shared permanently and that’s something youngsters should be aware of before using the app.
Pokemon Go:
The object of the game is to go outside, search for Pokémon (“pocket monsters”) and catch as many as possible (there are over 400). The app uses GPS so you can go to real-life locations, such as parks, schools and shopping malls, to catch Pokémon. Because GPS simulates real locations in real time, the app shows you icons on a map that indicate where Pokémon are, or where you can gather resources or visit “training” gyms. The main concern for parents is that a player’s location can be tracked, stored and revealed to nearby players, both children and adults.
Whisper:
It is an application created specifically for .Whisper shares secrets based on geographic location, so the users closest to your child are the most likely to see the secret.
Fortnite:
It’s a shooter game where 100 players parachute onto an island and the last player alive wins. Each game lasts about 20 minutes (although you have the option to quit the game if you die).All players in Fortnite start with a single weapon, although the map is filled with all kinds of weapons, armor and other equipment. After parachuting down to the location of your choice, the goal is to collect as much of the arsenal as you can while fending off enemies.

Musical.ly:
Tik tok (formerly known as muical.ly) is a platform for creating, sharing and discovering short music videos. Tik tok allows users to upload short, non-musical videos of themselves. The Tik Tok app is used by young people as an outlet to express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy etc. Now, the merged app gives everyone the opportunity to be creators of their own videos, and gives tools (e.g. filters, stickers, control over video speed, access to professional audio, etc.) to make their content fun and entertaining. But by most social networking standards, the app has its drawbacks, including privacy concerns that parents should be aware of.
