- The first portable user terminal certified by Eutelsat OneWeb, complying with NATO military standards, has passed Inhibition Resistance tests carried out at INTA.
Madrid, March 13th, 2025. – Grupo Oesía, a multinational company dedicated to dual-use digital and industrial engineering, has incorporated to its SatCom FoldSat terminal the exclusive and novel capacity to transmit in severe inhibition or contested environments, typical of electronic warfare.
FoldSat is the first European-made portable user terminal qualified under the demanding MIL-STD 810/461 standard, bringing technological sovereignty to the European Union by operating with the Eutelsat OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.
This terminal has been developed by Inster, the Grupo Oesía brand specialized in satellite communications, and has just passed anti-jamming and anti-spoofing protection tests at INTA (National Institute for Aerospace Technology), which allows it to resist and function correctly against deliberate interference attempts in conflict zones, in addition to the difficulty of interfering with the LEO satellite network of Eutelsat OneWeb, with more than 600 satellites moving at high speed in polar orbits.
Miguel Díaz, CEO of Inster-Grupo Oesía, “The addition of anti-jamming and anti-spoofing protection to our Foldsat terminal is a milestone on the road to European strategic autonomy in relation to broadband, low latency LEO satellite communications. We can state that, the only European manufactured LEO terminal certified by Eutelsat OneWeb to NATO standards, now has the capability to communicate in any environment and under any circumstances, including scenarios with high levels of interfering signal power. “.
