- The economic results of Grupo Oesía in 2023 have been excellent, particularly in Castilla-La Mancha, where it already represents 1.2% of the industrial GDP of the region.
- The company highlights its firm, solid and forward-looking commitment to Castilla-La Mancha, with an investment plan of 50 million euros over the next four years.
Madrid, July 11, 2024 – Grupo Oesía, a multinational company dedicated to dual-use digital and industrial engineering, has presented in Castilla-La Mancha its financial results for the fiscal year 2023.
With a turnover of 222 million euros and an EBITDA of 26.7 million euros at global level, Grupo Oesía has obtained particularly positive results in Castilla-La Mancha, with a turnover in the region of 105.2 million euros, which represents 47% of the company’s total business.
In fiscal year 2023, Grupo Oesía surpassed its best records in Castilla-La Mancha, reaching a turnover considerably higher than that of fiscal year 2022 (71.7 million euros), which means a growth of 46%.
Of the company’s total EBITDA, 70% (18.7 million euros) corresponded to Castilla-La Mancha, experiencing a 17% growth compared to 2022.
Last year, Grupo Oesía added an important investment in the region. In total, 6.2 million euros were allocated to Castilla-La Mancha in 2023, i.e. 41% of the total investments made by the Group and 31% more than in 2022.
The Group plans to maintain constant growth in investment in Castilla-La Mancha and estimates that by the end of 2024, investments in the region will represent almost half (47%) of its investment potential.
Over a four-year horizon, it plans to invest more than 50 million euros in the region in new R&D&I technologies and to increase its production capacity.
“Castilla-La Mancha is a key region in the present and in the future of Grupo Oesía, for two reasons: because in this region is located the most important infrastructure of our group and very good part of all our talent; and because our aspiration is to contribute socially and economically to the progress of the communities where we have presence. From our specialty, innovation and technology, we want to become a company strongly imbricated in the region from the economic point of view, but especially from the social point of view.“said Luis Furnells, executive president of Grupo Oesía.
Commitment to the future of Castilla-La Mancha
The excellent results of Grupo Oesía in Castilla-La Mancha, as well as in the rest of the country, are the result of a strategy based on hyper-specialization, investment in dual disruptive technologies, the signing of alliances based on technology with leading companies such as Indra, Navantia, Thales or Lockheed Martin, among others; and its internationalization process.
The spectacular growth and contribution of Castilla-La Mancha to the company’s results is based on three specific issues:
- The location of the Group’s main technology center in Valdepeñas. With a surface area of 18,000 m2, it houses modern facilities where high-tech dual-use systems and projects are designed, manufactured and developed for the national and international markets, including the European projects Eurofighter, Eurodrone Galileo PRS or Spainsat NG, among others.
- A commitment to the region’s talent. At the end of 2023, Grupo Oesía had 395 professionals from Castilla-La Mancha, 21% more than in 2022. At the end of June 2024, this figure had risen to 449 professionals (an increase of 13.7%). The forecast is to end 2024 with a total increase of 25%, which would mean a total increase of 52% in two years.
- The development of research, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems in collaboration with the University and research centers of the Community, which are articulated through public-private collaboration agreements, such as the Aula Oesía – UCLM Big Data and Cybersecurity project to promote research and young talent in this sector.
In the next four years, Grupo Oesía plans to maintain the sustained growth of its investment in R+D+i and in increasing its production capacities. A large part of these investments will be earmarked for Castilla-La Mancha; more specifically, investments in improvements to the Valdepeñas technology center are planned to increase production capacity and meet the recurring increase in demand.
