  • Extends its strength in the field of secure tactical communications in land, naval and air mobility environments.
  • INSTER joins the brands Tecnobit and UAV Navigation, boosting the export potential of Spanish technology and consolidating its competitive prominence for future national and international programs, such as Eurodron, SIRTAP, A400M or TIGRE.

Madrid, July 6, 2022. Grupo Oesía, a Spanish multinational company dedicated to technological and digital engineering and one of the main technological suppliers of the Spanish defense sector through its brand Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, consolidates as a leading player in the field of Communications after the acquisition of INSTER, the satellite terminals company  from Grupo CPS.

The Spanish multinational adds INSTER to the group of companies and high performance centers that already form a benchmark. The purchase is part of a joint business plan with a horizon of 2025, at which time the transaction will be completed.

This acquisition means a bet for the development and growth of INSTER’s business and technological project, assuring its viability through the investment in capital, contribution of capacities and solid presence in the market of Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía in the Defense, Aeronautics, Space and Security sector, where it collaborates with large companies and programs, both national and international. All this with the firm commitment, without any fissure, to guarantee the success of the projects and commitments acquired with its clients, and the strengthening of its technological and commercial capabilities.

INSTER complements and completes these capabilities with its specialization in the development of technology for ground, naval and airborne satellite communications; mobility applications in the military environment; and high-capacity wireless access for telecommunications operators.

In the words of Luis Furnells Abaunz, Grupo Oesía CEO, “INSTER joins the group of innovation and high technological performance centers of Grupo Oesía that are contributing to our country’s increasing national sovereignty in the Security and Defense field. This integration boosts the export potential of Spanish technology and reinforces our competitive capacity for future national and international programs”.

For his part, Cándido Comino Chavarrías, president of Grupo CPS, commented: “We can only feel immense pride in the leadership, knowledge and high commitment of a high performance team that, with our support in recent years, has allowed us to materialize this operation, which adds value and multiplies the potential of Spanish technology in the most strategic markets, recognizing Grupo Oesía as the best possible travel companion”.

The integration boosts the export potential of Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, whose developments are in countries such as USA, Japan, Germany, Holland, Australia, UAE or Bangladesh; and reinforces the competitive dimension present in its capacities and developments. We refer to Communication Links -radio, modem and SATCOM-; Tactical Communication Processors; Communication Securization -ciphre and cybersecurity-; Gateways between security domains (cross domain solutions and Quantum Communications, with QKD and the quantum router.

All these competencies will be key in large national and international programs, where the Spanish multinational is already present. To give some examples, in the space field we can mention Spainsat 2; in terrestrial communications the programs and modernizations for the vehicles of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), where INSTER satellite terminals are already operating; and in the aeronautical field the UAV programs, with the Eurodron, a program in which Grupo Oesía has already committed more than 50 MIO€ and the future SIRTAP; the fixed wing programs, with the C295 for Maritime Patrol and the A400M; and in the rotary wing programs, the TIGRE.

SGoSat

Family of SATCOM On The Move (SOTM) terminals for vehicular installation and stable mobile connection

SGoSat is a family of high-tech SOTM (Satellite Comms On The Move) terminals that are installed in a vehicle, providing the ability to target and maintain a stable connection to the satellite when the vehicle is in motion in any type of conditions.

The SGoSat family is composed of versatile terminals, which can be installed on any type of platform: trains and buses, military and/or government vehicles, aircraft, ships, etc. Originally designed for the military sector, SGoSat terminals are extremely reliable and robust, integrating high-performance components that comply with the most stringent environmental and EMI/EMC regulations. The product uses low-profile, high-efficiency antennas and a high-performance positioning and tracking unit, allowing the terminal to be operated anywhere in the world.

In order to meet the diverse needs of its customers, INSTER has developed single band and dual band terminals in X, Ka and Ku frequencies.

The SGoSat family of terminals can also be configured with a wide range of radomes (including ballistic options) to suit customer requirements.
