Capabilities used

WMS (Warehouse Management System). A system responsible for warehouse operations, offering functionalities and interfaces that allow the development of all the operational tasks of a warehouse and the integrated maintenance of all the information flow: entries, classification, storage, inventories, order preparation, departures, etc.

Situation

We have to create a Warehouse Management System for a company with a high degree of integration in which all phases of the fashion process are carried out: design, procurement, manufacturing and product quality control, logistics and sales in own stores, both physical and online.

All production, regardless of its origin, is received at the logistics centers of each of the chains in Spain, from where it is distributed simultaneously to all stores around the world with a high and constant frequency. Distribution takes place twice a week, always including new models in each shipment, which allows for a constant renewal of the offer in the stores.

In the same way, the platforms also distribute to the group's online distribution centers in different parts of the world.

Tasks

The WMS is at an intermediate level between the ERP and the control systems (terminals, automations, picking systems, conveyor systems, etc.) communicating at a higher level with the ERP to obtain master data (products, customers, suppliers, orders to be prepared, purchase orders, order status, inventory movements, etc.).

  1. International Logistics Support, providing user perspective and flexibility through continuous training to employees in warehouses and logistics centers; Software Documentation Management; User Support Service and Change Management with each implementation and upgrade.
  2. Functional Support, providing identification, elaboration and analysis, validation of requirements; monitoring and control of incidents, visualization of system behavior and analysis of logs in real time. Support in software implementations or implementation of the same.
  3. Development and Support N3, providing planning, estimation, development, monitoring and reporting of functional or technical evolution in the various solutions that make up the WMS and the design and implementation of Architecture and Framework.

Action

Add value through a WMS tailored to the customer's needs:

  • Improving the accuracy of operations and inventory management by increasing precision and control.
  • Achieving more efficient operations, with the minimum amount of resources employed.
  • Reducing operation times by shortening order cycles.
  • Optimizing costs, without penalizing flexibility and time to market.
  • Facilitating customization, adaptability and simplicity.
  • Increasing safety and reliability.
  • Facilitating scalability.

Result

Our client's logistics system, based on computer applications developed to meet the company's needs, allows an average time of 36 hours for European stores and a maximum of 48 hours for stores in the Americas and Asia, from receipt of the order at the distribution center to delivery of the merchandise to the store.

SGoSat

Family of SATCOM On The Move (SOTM) terminals for vehicular installation and stable mobile connection

SGoSat is a family of high-tech SOTM (Satellite Comms On The Move) terminals that are installed in a vehicle, providing the ability to target and maintain a stable connection to the satellite when the vehicle is in motion in any type of conditions.

The SGoSat family is composed of versatile terminals, which can be installed on any type of platform: trains and buses, military and/or government vehicles, aircraft, ships, etc. Originally designed for the military sector, SGoSat terminals are extremely reliable and robust, integrating high-performance components that comply with the most stringent environmental and EMI/EMC regulations. The product uses low-profile, high-efficiency antennas and a high-performance positioning and tracking unit, allowing the terminal to be operated anywhere in the world.

In order to meet the diverse needs of its customers, INSTER has developed single band and dual band terminals in X, Ka and Ku frequencies.

The SGoSat family of terminals can also be configured with a wide range of radomes (including ballistic options) to suit customer requirements.
