Aerostructures and Mechanical Assemblies

Situation

In 2003 Lockheed Martin asked Tecnobit for a request for proposal to be part of the international bidding process organized for the assembly, integration and testing of the structures that will support the sensor operator consoles and the assembly of the acoustic processor rack, one of the equipment that will be destined to the MH-60 helicopters of the US Navy of the United States.

Tecnobit has collaborated with Lockheed Martin during the last 14 years in different contracts, first with the upgrade of the SH-60B Block 0 to Block I helicopter for the Spanish Navy (Rota Navy Station) and later, with supplies for the MH-60R program, and during all this time,

Tasks

  • A specific production line is developed for the manufacture of aerostructures for indoor equipment and mechanical assemblies. In this area it performs the simplest tasks up to complex riveting operations, assemblies, tests, measurements and inspections of high precision and demand.
  • Tecnobit has increased the number of processes and adapted to demanding customer requirements. The number of processes has been reduced and has been adapted to the demanding customer requirements.

Action

Since 2004, Lockheed Martin has been manufacturing racks for the MH-60R helicopters.

Tecnobit (Oesia Group) produces two specific models of racks: SOC (Sensor Operator Console) and MER (Mission Equipment Rack), in the latter carrying out, besides the mechanical assembly, the manufacturing, testing and integration of cables and tests at system level. A total of 310 pairs of racks have been contracted so far.

Main characteristics:

  • Riveting operations according to NASM47196
  • High-performance cable manufacturing according to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3
  • Application of military primers and paints such as MIL-PRF-23377, MIL-PRF-85582 and MIL-PRF-22750.
  • Recording and control of temperature and humidity during the application and curing process.

Result

Tecnobit - Grupo Oesía thanks to the great work done in these contracts received in 2009 the qualification "Star Supplier" for its performance in the program.

Later, it was awarded the "Elite Supplier Award", a recognition of the company's exemplary performance and contribution to national security in the United States.

Tecnobit is Lockheed Martin's second most valued supplier on the MH-60R program and for years has recorded 100% quality and on-time delivery metrics.

Tecnobit is the only non-U.S. company to earn this recognition out of 8,300 Lockheed Martin suppliers for excellence in delivery excellence in the supply of mechanical aerostructures, cables, fabrication and integration for the U.S. Navy's MH-60R naval helicopter program.

Lockheed Martin awards Tecnobit with the Elite Supplier Award

Tecnobit, the only non-US company to receive the 2018 Elite Supplier Award recognition.

SGoSat

Family of SATCOM On The Move (SOTM) terminals for vehicular installation and stable mobile connection

SGoSat is a family of high-tech SOTM (Satellite Comms On The Move) terminals that are installed in a vehicle, providing the ability to target and maintain a stable connection to the satellite when the vehicle is in motion in any type of conditions.

The SGoSat family is composed of versatile terminals, which can be installed on any type of platform: trains and buses, military and/or government vehicles, aircraft, ships, etc. Originally designed for the military sector, SGoSat terminals are extremely reliable and robust, integrating high-performance components that comply with the most stringent environmental and EMI/EMC regulations. The product uses low-profile, high-efficiency antennas and a high-performance positioning and tracking unit, allowing the terminal to be operated anywhere in the world.

In order to meet the diverse needs of its customers, INSTER has developed single band and dual band terminals in X, Ka and Ku frequencies.

The SGoSat family of terminals can also be configured with a wide range of radomes (including ballistic options) to suit customer requirements.
